THAT ONE DAY IN FEBRUARY

2:30 am - the hour when it all ended

The surge of storms that flooded her home,

Thorns grew from words embedded through her bones.

Bones she held together, not a single broken piece.

2:30 am, She cared no more.

Thorns, storms, bones - she stepped out from it all,

Lying on that hospital bed, dust resting in peace.

2:30 am, Eyes that cared no more,

One last look at tears and sadness not her own,

Her one last gaze at the face of death.

In the hands of unknown fate,
I walked through hell with faith.
Those miles I wandered off alone,
someone without fail bears a light for me.
I am here, scars bared, embraced—
naked, I have returned.
